Echinacea 'Secret Affair'

Plant Type: Perennial

Deep fuchsia, fragrant, pom pom double coneflower. Its sizable blooms appear on short, sturdy stems above the exceptional dark green foliage from midsummer through early fall, potentially until frost in some zones.

Since it branches low on the stems and grows vigorously, you’ll soon have a full, bushy clump that has presence in the landscape and containers. As the plentiful flowers age, they lighten slightly taking on pretty mauve and lavender tones. Be sure to cut a few for your fresh bouquets.

Praised for their cheerful brightly colored flowers, coneflowers are a mainstay in today's garden. Be sure to leave some spent blooms on the plants in the fall because their seeds provide winter food for finches and other birds. The dried seed heads also provide architectural interest in the winter.

Landscape Application:

Long lasting color for beds, borders and cottage gardens. Excellent when massed.

Echinacea 'Secret Affair' Plant Care:

Tolerates a variety of soil fertility. Drought tolerant once established.

USDA Hardiness Zone: Zone 4 (-30/-20F)
