Mauve-pink flowers held well above the foliage August through October. One of the earliest anemones to bloom in the fall. Dark green foliage remains handsome from spring through frost. Plants are stoloniferous and spread in the garden but can be but are easy to control by digging.

Prefers consistently moist, well-drained organic soil. Foliage will brown in hot, dry conditions. Avoid wet poorly drained soils.
